OTTAWA — Even more soothing to the Senators than the current three-game winning streak is the fact that they have found themselves.
Because for the previous five, they looked lost.
During that ugly stretch, the Senators allowed 20 goals, seemingly having forgotten everything they had learned from Guy Boucher about playing sound defensive hockey. As a result, Ottawa suffered five losses in a row, leading to some anxious moments that threatened to cancel their immediate post-regular season plans.
With the playoffs just days away, the light bulb has gone on again. They are locked into second place with home-ice advantage because they have remembered how to keep the puck out of the net.
