The Senators have made another round of cuts to their NHL training camp roster.
Today, the team placed Tyler Randell on waivers for the purpose of AHL assignment, released Chris VandeVelde from his PTO, and assigned Filip Chlapik to Belleville.
Of the notable forwards still left at camp, Alex Formenton and Logan Brown.
Both would be heading back to their respected OHL teams if cut, but the two youngsters have clearly made a great impression on head coach Guy Boucher. Formenton, with his speed and ferocity, has shown he can lead the forecheck and has some more offensive awareness than many critics claimed.
