OTTAWA — Craig Anderson will be back in the Senators' net Tuesday night.
But, shortly, he’s going to take another leave of absence to spend time with his Nicholle, who is undergoing treatments for throat cancer at a New York-based hospital, so the Senators brought Andrew Hammond back up from their AHL affiliate in Binghamton before facing the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday at the Canadian Tire Centre.
The Senators open a three-game homestand against the Sabres and there’s a possibility Anderson won’t play either Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers or Saturday versus the Florida Panthers.
However, coach Guy Boucher indicated that’s something they’ll have to sit down to discuss with the veteran goalie.
