Senators' Anderson chalks up goal as 'unlucky break'

PITTSBURGH — The way both Craig Anderson and his teammates were playing, Game 2 could have gone deep into the night.

If not for just one little snag.

Anderson is sure he would have stopped the third-period Phil Kessel shot that turned out to be the game’s only goal but for the “bad luck” of having his left skate jammed by the ice.

“I butterfly, and (Jean-Gabriel) Pageau blocked (Kessel’s first attempt) … I went to readjust and tried the butterfly again, and my left edge just caught on the ice,” the Senators goalie said Tuesday morning.
