The Senators have acquired a forward but it's hardly a blockbuster.
General manager Pierre Dorion acquired depth by sending Buddy Robinson and Zack Stortini, along with a draft pick, to San Jose for forward Tommy Wingels.
Wingels, 28, has 51 goals and 122 points in his career in 337 career games.
The Sharks will pay 30% of Wingels' salary as part of the deal.
"Tommy has been a valuable member of our franchise for many years, a phenomenal teammate and a true role model on and off the ice for our organization and the NHL," San Jose GM Doug Wilson said in a statement.
