Binghamton starts the second half on a losing note with 4-0 loss on home ice
Ex-NHL veteran Scott Gomez scored a goal and an assist in helping another ex-NHL vet, goaltender Dan Ellis, to his third shutout of the season as the Bears silenced the hapless Binghamton Senators by a score of 4-0. Chris Driedger (9-9-1-0, 3.05 GAA, 0.902 SV%) took the loss for the Senators as they fell for the second game in a row on home ice and 11 points out of the final playoff spot.
After the Senators (15-21-3-0) applied endless waves of pressure on Ellis in the opening period, Bears defenseman Mike Moore puts his team out front with a slapper from just inside the circle eluding Driedger's stick for the 1-0 lead.
