Ryan Dzingel stood in the hallway at the Canadian Tire Centre Friday, the stitches on his left ear visible, and indicated he was lucky it wasn’t worse.
After getting hit in the ear by an Erik Karlsson shot that deflected off Matt Beleskey’s skate, Dzingel required more than 30 stitches from club Dr. Don Chow to repair five cuts he suffered as a result of the incident.
As he lay on the table getting stitched up before returning in the second period against the Boston Bruins Thursday night at the Canadian Tire Centre, Dzingel wished Chow had fibbed about the damage a little bit.
