Revisiting the Senators' Game 7 history

After making the playoffs for the first time in team history, the Senators saw their magical ride come to an end with an overtime loss against Buffalo.

While there was no shortage of drama during the series when Dominik Hasek mysteriously left the net with a knee sprain in Ottawa, Derek Plante’s shot at 5:24 of overtime slipped through Ron Tugnutt’s glove to give the Sabres the series win.

“I’ve dreamed over and over of scoring a seventh-game winner,” Plante said. “I didn’t think it went in and then all of a sudden I see (Tugnutt) reaching behind him.
