SAN JOSE - Returning to this city brought back special, emotional memories for the Senators and the entourage that travels with them.
Last March 1, the team had just finished a morning practice here when popular assistant coach Mark Reeds stopped as he walked from the rink to the dressing room to chat with a couple of Ottawa reporters. He had been battling cancer for some time and on this day, he was not looking well. He was skinny, gaunt and coughing, but his condition didn't prevent him from being on the ice or having a laugh with the two scribes.
