Ottawa’s ‘Butterfly Child’ is taking his story south of the border.
Jonathan Pitre, 15, who suffers from the painful and debilitating Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), was featured on ESPN’s weekly investigative journalism newsmagazine show E:60 on Tuesday.
Pitre — who dreams of playing professional sports — is an ambassador for DEBRA Canada, a charity organization dedicated to providing support and raising awareness of EB, a rare genetic disease that causes skin to blister and scar.
From signing a one-day pro scouting contract with the Ottawa Senators to speaking at the NHL Awards last season in Las Vegas, Pitre has taken the sports world by storm and continues to promote awareness.
