The ugly C word — concussion — has once again hit the Senators hard at training camp.
This time, it’s top line right winger Mark Stone who is out indefinitely. Stone left the ice in frustration during the club’s first on-ice session Friday, following a skirmish with Buddy Robinson.
“(Saturday), we were told it is looking good, much better than we expected,” Senators coach Guy Boucher said following Saturday’s workouts. “We’re taking all the precautions we can to make sure it heals faster. We’re just following the protocol.”
Stone, one of the NHL’s top defensive forwards, scored 23 goals and 38 assists in 75 games last season.
