LOS ANGELES — In his perfect world, Chris Neil would have loved to walk away from his 1,000th career NHL game with a victory.
Instead, he had to settle for being on the ice at the start and the finish of the Senators’ 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
Appropriately enough, Neil was in a fight in his milestone game, dropping the gloves with the Kings’ Jordan Nolan following a Nolan hit on Bobby Ryan.
“For me, it was an exciting day,” said Neil. “It was great to have my teammates here, who support me 100%.
