Chris Neil could be the odd man out as the Ottawa Senators take on the Calgary Flames on Thursday.
While Senators coach Guy Boucher wasn’t ready to confirm line-up changes following the morning skate — a flu bug continues to exist in the dressing room — early indications were that Neil would be on the sidelines.
A move is necessary because of the arrival of Tommy Wingels in a trade from San Jose on Tuesday.
Wingels is set to make his Senators debut.
Neil has played 1,018 games in his NHL career and all 45 this season,
“It’s part of the game, every team has it,” said Neil of the internal competition resulting from the Wingels trade.
