That’s the salary arbitrator Daniel F. Brent ruled Ottawa will pay Mike Hoffman, the team’s leading sniper last season, in a decision finally handed down late Monday afternoon.
Hoffman, who had three goals in 29 games before his breakout season as a full-timer, had been seeking an award of $3.4 million.
The Senators were offering $1.75 million before Thursday’s hearing.
The verdict makes the Senators winners in both of their arbitration hearings this summer.
