Ottawa Senators to retire Chris Phillips’ No. 4 jersey in February

The Ottawa Senators have officially announced that the organisation will pay tribute to one of their greatest servants when they face the Buffalo Sabres on February 18th 2020, seeing no other player don Chris Phillips‘ No. 4 jersey in the Canadian capital ever again.

Phillips, a left-handed defenceman during his playing days, is synonymous with the Senators with the Calgary, Alberta native holding the record for most appearances with the organisation.

His 1179 regular-season games in a Sens jersey edges out Daniel Alfredsson by just one game, ensuring that Phillips holds on to the record for the foreseeable future, with no current play anywhere near his record.
