After impressing management during the preseason, Scott Sabourin has earned himself a one-year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators.
Sabourin came to prominence during pre-season after his altercation with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews, also dropping the gloves against former Senators blueliner Ben Harpur.
According to the Sens’ official release, Sabourin will earn $700,000 while playing with the NHL team, dropping to $100,000 if he is sent down to the AHL.
For Sabourin, who has survived the latest round of training camp cuts, he has an opportunity to make his debut in the NHL and play a role in the show for the very first time in his career.
