The depth signings continue for the Ottawa Senators this afternoon. After inking goalie Mike McKenna, the team has now signed forward Paul Carey to a one year, two-way deal. The contract will carry a value of $700,000 in the NHL and $350,000 in the AHL.
Carey, a 29-year-old from Boston, possesses 92 games on NHL experience between Colorado, Washington and the New York Rangers. Last season was his first time receiving a steady NHL role, scoring 14 points in 60 games for the Rangers. He played an average of 10:15 per game with minimal special teams usage, while his most common linemates were David Desharnais, Boo Nieves and Jimmy Vesey.
