Heading into this off-season, the Ottawa Senators had only five players scheduled to be unrestricted free agents. The first of the group to be signed is Magnus Paajarvi, as today he signed a one-year contract extension.
Paajarvi, who was claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Blues in January, was inserted into the Sens’ bottom six forward corps for the second half of the season. His smooth skating brought a bit of life into what was otherwise some lacklustre depth on the wing, scoring six times and adding two assists in his 35 games for Ottawa.
