The Ottawa Senators have joined the PTO party this afternoon, as forward Chris VandeVelde will be attending the Sens’ training camp in hopes of getting a contract. VandeVelde, a 30-year-old from Minnesota, has spent his last four seasons playing in the NHL and AHL for the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise, as Dorion has stated a few times that he’ll look to sign a couple PTOs, in search for an extra depth forward. VandeVelde would fit the bill, as he scored 15 points in 81 games last season on the Flyers’ fourth line.
