Chris Kelly is coming back to the Ottawa Senators.
Kelly, a versatile 35-year-old forward who missed most of last season with the Boston Bruins after breaking his leg, signed a one-year, $900,000 deal with the Senators on Thursday.
In his previous life with the Senators, he scored 75 goals and 101 assists in 463 games with the Senators before being traded to the Boston Bruins in the 2011 purge which also saw Mike Fisher dealt to the Nashville Predators.
Kelly will likely serve as a third- or fourth-line winger/centre and he has a proven track record as an outstanding penalty killer.
