The Ottawa Senators are only four points out of the second wild card, but their climb got tougher when general manager Bryan Murray said Monday they are shutting down center Kyle Turris indefinitely due to a high ankle sprain.
Turris has been dealing with the injury for months and has been struggling of late. After registering 58 points and 64 points in the last two seasons, respectively, he has 30 in 57 games this season and is a minus-15.
Murray said that the Senators might be in the market for a center now that Turris is out.
