When the Ottawa Senators returned Thomas Chabot to junior on Wednesday, the team was left with exactly 12 forwards and 6 defencemen. The trade later-the-same-day for goaltender Mike Condon brought the Sens back to 21 players, but still left the team vulnerable in case of injury. The team rectified that this morning, bringing defenceman Fredrik Claesson and forward Max McCormick up from Binghamton.
Claesson, 23, played his first 16 career NHL games last season as a call-up with the Sens, scoring two assists while often being paired with Erik Karlsson.
