Ottawa Senators prospects make their mark early in season

As the Senators continue their lengthy western Canadian road trip, let’s take a step back for a sneak peak at the club’s future prospects.

Down in Binghamton, it has been a case of so far, so good for Francis Perron. The reigning Quebec Major Junior League MVP has made a solid transition into the American Hockey League, scoring two goals — including a power-play goal in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Utica — and two assists in his first four pro games.

Perron, a left winger originally drafted 190th overall by the Senators in 2014, is trying to bulk up physically (he’s six feet and 170 pounds), but he has held his own defensively in Binghamton.
