The Senators will open the season with visits from their closest rivals.
After the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Montreal Canadiens will touch down on Saturday, Oct. 15. The NHL unveiled the full 82-game schedule for all teams on Tuesday.
The visit by the Leafs is expected to include the NHL debut of centre Auston Matthews, who is expected to go No. 1 in Friday’s NHL entry draft in Buffalo, and newly-acquired goaltender Frederik Andersen from the Anaheim Ducks.
The Senators will open the season with eight games in October -- including four at home.
