If the Heritage Classic isn’t on Parliament Hill next season there’s a strong chance there won’t be an NHL outdoor game in Ottawa.
While the Senators and the NHL are working closely with government officials to try to host a game on the Hill in December 2017 as part of Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations, it doesn’t appear TD Place is being looked at as an alternative.
Speaking on TSN 1200 on Monday, Senators president Cyril Leeder said the Hill is the only location the team and the league are studying.
“There’s really only one option we’ve been working on and that’s to try to find a way to make that game work on Parliament Hill,” Leeder told the station.
