Dorion, who stepped up from his assistant general manager’s role to take over from Bryan Murray as the eighth GM in Ottawa Senators history Sunday, came close to breaking down as he talked about the influence of his late father, Pierre Dorion, Sr., on his career path. The senior Dorion, who passed away in 1994, served as the head of the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau and as the Toronto Maple Leafs director of amateur scouting.
