18 games separate the Ottawa Senators and a much-needed summer vacation.
It has been a long year for the Sens. They currently sit in dead last of the NHL with a 22-37-5 record and are on a six-game losing streak.
But up until now, the games had been semi-watchable thanks to the performances of Mark Stone and Matt Duchene, who were both on a point-per-game pace. That semi-watchable nature came to an end when both players were traded (Stone to Vegas, Duchene to Columbus). Now, the team is a shell of what it was with Stone and Duchene leading the way, and the Senators were already bad with them in the lineup.
