Montreal Canadiens snipers Alexander Radulov and Paul Byron put the finishing touches on a game that lived up to the pre-game hype — and then some — Saturday night.
Radulov and Byron scored against Senators goaltender Craig Anderson in the shootout, while Ottawa’s Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris came up empty against the Canadiens’ Carey Price in the penalty shot competition.
With the 4-3 victory, the Canadiens extended their lead over the Senators to two points atop the Atlantic Division standings.
The Senators should be kicking themselves. They blew a shot to win during overtime, failing to take advantage of a penalty to the Canadiens’ Max Pacioretty.
