The Senators are getting ready for a major change to NHL rules when the puck drops next month.
While they'll also have a chance to use it in three pre-season games regardless of the score, the Senators wrapped up Sunday's scrimmage with a five-minute 3-on-3 session and there were plenty of scoring chances before Mark Stone was rewarded a goal with one second remaining in the session.
"It's going to be exciting during the year. I don't see too many games getting to a shootout," said winger Clarke MacArthur. "Pretty much any of the rushes you get a step on your guy and it's odd-man the other way.
