NEWARK, N.J. - Kyle Turris’ Ironman streak ended just five games before he was about to break a franchise record.
For the first time since being acquired four years ago, the Senators’ top centre was not in the lineup when they took on the New Jersey Devils Thursday night at Prudential Center.
Turris, who has been battling an ankle injury for weeks, played 307 consecutive games. Chris Phillips holds the franchise mark at 311 games.
Remarkably, Mike Hoffman was able to suit up for the meeting with the Devils after crashing hard into a goal post Saturday night in San Jose.
