Andrew Hammond gets it.
He totally understands why other NHL goalies have such a hard time picking up Mike Hoffman's shot.
"Yeah, I see it in practice every day," Hammond said Wednesday morning at Verizon Center. "It's a very quick release. I'm not surprised by any means he's scoring the goals the way he is. I think having a guy like that in practice only makes the team better, makes the goalies better, because when you're facing a guy like that it forces you to improve."
Hammond stopped 29 shots the first and only other time he has faced the Washington Capitals.
