Ottawa's "butterfly child" was excited to find out the new mask Senators goalie Andrew Hammond will wear this season bears a tribute to him.
Jonathan Pitre, a 15-year-old who suffers from painful and disabling Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), said he was completely taken aback Tuesday morning when told The Hamburglar's mask has his initials and a butterfly painted on it.
"I had no idea any of it was gonna go down ... I'm very honoured," said Pitre.
Pitre is an ambassador for DEBRA Canada, a charity organization dedicated to providing support and raising awareness of EB, a rare genetic disease that causes skin to blister and scar.
