Acquired in a trade from the Vancouver Canucks on January 2nd, Anders Nilsson has impressed in his 10 games with the Ottawa Senators.
His record may be average (6-4-0) but his statistics are not, boasting a spectacular .937 SV% and a solid 2.21 GAA, along with one shutout. He has now won two straight games in net for the Sens and has won four of his last five starts.
With no first round pick this year, the Sens aren’t joining in on the “Lose For Hughes” competition. So, with nothing to lose, why not give Nilsson more starts going forward, seeing as how he is the hot hand in net.
