With their second trade in as many days, the Ottawa Senators have completed a minor-league deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs, sending winger Max Veronneau to the 6ix, in exchange for former Sens centre prospect Aaron Luchuk.
The swap also contains a sixth-round pick that Ottawa will acquire, if Veronneau plays at least 10 NHL games the rest of the season.
A highly-touted Princeton University prospect, Veronneau was signed by the Senators late last season, scoring two goals and two assists in his first 12 NHL games. This year has been a different story, however, as the 24 year-old has struggled to separate himself from the rest of Ottawa’s prospect pool.
