Upon further review, Chris Phillips’ No. 4 should absolutely be the next Senators jersey raised to the rafters at Canadian Tire Centre, alongside Daniel Alfredsson’s No. 11 and Frank Finnigan’s No. 8.
And when he’s done playing, Chris Neil’s No. 25 should definitely be hoisted to the ceiling as well.
Phillips and Neil are in a group of only 26 who have played for just one team and suited up for more than 1,000 games.
Phillips is 12th on that list, while Neil is at the bottom but also one of just five active players (along with Patrick Marleau, Shane Doan and the Sedin twins) to surpass the 1,000 plateau.
