In the first 43 games of his pro career, Nick Paul has notched six goals and 11 assists for the Binghamton Senators.
But it’s a different set of numbers that make him most appealing to the Senators.
As a 6-foot-3, “230ish” 20-year-old who was recalled on Saturday, Paul is the biggest centre in the Ottawa organization. And as scouts like to say, size is an attribute that can’t be taught.
“On paper, I’d like to have a dream team, and that dream team would include a big strong centre … with a big strong winger on one side, and a big strong wigner on the other, with two big strong defenceman, and a huge goalie,” said coach Dave Cameron.
