Ottawa Senators can thanks Anderson for win [Photos]

MONTREAL - Craig Anderson and the Senators committed a little highway robbery of their own Thursday night.

While Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond was supposed to make the start, he left the morning skate with a groin injury, so the Senators’ No. 1 goalie was thrust into action and he shut the door with 41 stops in a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Playing their final two pre-season games with a home-and-home series against the Habs, the Senators moved their exhibition record to 2-3-2. Anderson was helped by three-point efforts from winger Mark Stone and Cody Ceci along with goals by Patrick Wiercioch, Clarke MacArthur and Mike Hoffman.
