Perhaps that thought was running through the mind of Senators assistant coach Rick Wamsley when head coach Dave Cameron opted to take a day away from microphones Friday, allowing Wamsley to pinch-hit during the daily media scrum.
Who wouldn’t want to talk about the third-period collapse and the smorgasbord of defensive errors which resulted in the Senators’ 5-3 loss to Vancouver and the end of a four-game winning streak?
“We’re disappointed with the loss, we’re disappointed with the way we played, to ultimately lose the game,” Wamsley said. “We have played better than that (recently) and as a group, I guess we’re trying to figure out why that happens.
