While the word has been out for a few weeks, today it’s been made official that the Brampton Beast will serve as the Ottawa Senators’ ECHL affiliate for the 2018-19 season.
The Beast are next in line from a long list of previous ECHL affiliations with Ottawa, becoming the fourth team since 2013 (Elmira, Evansville and Wichita are the others). Hopefully the Beast are here to stay, as the proximity to Belleville should make things simpler for prospects moving between teams.
Last season the Beast were split between Montreal and Ottawa, with Sens prospects such as Marcus Hogberg, Macoy Erkamps and (former prospect) Cody Donaghey all spending time there.
