FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. - Just 48 hours before they break for Christmas, the Senators were given a day off to either shop, sit on the fantastic beach that is across the street from their hotel here or find other ways to rest and relax.
"Energy," coach Dave Cameron explained Monday. "It's about whatever we do today (that) gives us the best energy level tomorrow."
The Senators will need every ounce they can muster up for Tuesday's game against a Florida Panthers team that has won four in a row. Don't look now, but the desperate playoff race is already in full gear as the Senators' inconsistent play has them in danger of being on the outside looking in when teams take four days off for the holidays.
