Alex Formenton was drafted 47th overall in the second round by the Ottawa Senators just this past June. Nothing was expected from him going into training camp except that he put his best foot forward and show the coaches his current level of play. However, he went above and beyond his expectations.
Signing
As of today the third of October he is still with the team. Just two days away from the season opener he has yet to be sent back to junior. As a result of his fantastic performance at camp he was awarded an entry-level contract.
