The Ottawa Senators made the most minor of trades today, acquiring veteran AHL winger Marc Hagel from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations. Hagel, who currently has seven points in 26 AHL games this season, will report to the Binghamton Senators.
With the recent departures of Buddy Robinson and Zack Stortini to San Jose, Hagel should bring some depth to a Binghamton squad that’s currently fighting for a playoff spot. Coach Kurt Kleinendorst should be familiar with his play, having coached him in Iowa from 2013 to 2015.
