OTTAWA - CALGARY — Dave Cameron has no regrets about his time with the Senators.
An assistant coach with the Calgary Flames, Cameron faced his team for the first time Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome since he was fired by the Senators three days after the season ended last April.
“From a point of view, it’s great to see my players, the guys that I coached and it’s good to see them and good to talk to them,” Cameron said following the morning skate. “There’s a little more familiarity from a personal side.
“But, as you know in the NHL, you have a routine and you gear up to beat every team and you basically do the same pre-scout and stuff like that, so there’s a not whole lot of difference other than you know the personnel and you spent a lot of time with them.
