Montreal Canadiens 3, Vegas Golden Knights 2 (OT), MTL Leads Series 2-1
At the outset of this series, most pundits had the Golden Knights rolling over the Habs with relative ease. Vegas had, after all, just finished disposing of Colorado in impressive fashion and possess a much stronger line-up than the Canadiens. For Montreal to keep this series competitive, they would likely need Carey Price to be spectacular and for their forwards to be opportunistic. Last night, they followed that blueprint to a T; Vegas was largely the better team, shots were 30-8 for the Golden Knights through two, but Montreal never trailed by more than one and Price was absolutely electric.
