OTTAWA - When Alex Formenton first arrived at Senators training camp, he wasn’t even old enough to cross the river for a post-practice beer in Gatineau.
He turned 18 on Sept. 13. I’ll save you the math ... that means Formenton was born in 1999.
That also means he would be the youngest player in the NHL if he survives the Senators’ final cuts. That’s not going to happen, though, right? As impressive as he has been through their pre-season schedule that has one game remaining, surely they are going to return him to the London Knights before things get serious here.
