OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion announced today the hiring of Pierre Groulx as goaltending coach.
Groulx, 40, joins Ottawa’s coaching staff composed of head coach Guy Boucher, associate coach Marc Crawford and assistant coach Rob Cookson.
An Ottawa native, Groulx spent the 2015-16 season as goaltending coach with the Florida Panthers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates. He has worked previously with three National Hockey League organizations, including the Senators, where he began his career as the team’s video coach in 2000.
“We continue to feel strongly about adding people with significant NHL experience to our staff and Pierre meets that want in an unconditional manner,” said Boucher.
