OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators (@Senators) owner and chief executive officer Eugene Melnyk today announced the appointment of Pierre Dorion as the team’s new general manager. Dorion becomes the eighth general manager in team history and has spent nine seasons with the Senators including more than two seasons as one of the team’s assistant general managers.
“Pierre is a smart, hardworking and detailed hockey executive who has been deeply involved in every aspect of our club’s hockey operations,” Melnyk said. “Pierre’s significant experience at all levels of hockey management and his close working relationship with both Bryan Murray and Randy Lee will provide our hockey club with the necessary leadership to return our team to playoff contention.
