The future of the Senators is in the hands of the National Capital Commission’s board of directors — as strange as that seems.
The bids to redevelop LeBreton Flats, the valuable piece of real estate just west of downtown, have been studied. Now the NCC appears ready to determine whether it will recommend Eugene Melnyk’s Rendesvouz LeBreton bid or a submission by Devcore Canderel DLS for the site.
The NCC’s board of directors will meet on Thursday at 2 p.m. in a public session to see who is going to get the preferred status to negotiate a deal.
