Mark Stone suspended two games for his hit on Landon Ferraro

Will miss games against the Habs and Jets

This morning before Sens practice, Mark Stone had his hearing for the second period hit on Landon Ferraro on Saturday. This afternoon, the league handed down their decision - a two game suspension for the Senators leading scorer.

Mark Stone himself has publicly said it was a bad hit with his shoulder making contact with Ferraro's head, so a suspension shouldn't be that surprising. The league did accept his explanation for the play, determining that there was no intent. However, they still considered the hit itself reckless and that the onus was on Stone to deliver the hit in a legal manner.
