Mark Stone took a major step in his concussion recovery Friday, practising with his teammates for the first time since leaving the ice on the opening day of training camp.
If all continues to go well, Stone could play in Tuesday’s exhibition game against Toronto in Saskatoon or in the pre-season finale next Friday versus Buffalo.
“I’m working a lot harder than I was a few days ago,” Stone said following Friday afternoon’s workout at the Canadian Tire Centre. “That’s an improvement, for sure.”
Stone still needs to go through several more steps before being cleared to play, including passing a baseline concussion test and going through more thorough contact drills at practice.
